Doing good for the environment, doing great for your business.

With the increased focus on the environmental impact of doing business, renewable energy is becoming an important component of corporate sustainability strategies. Pure Wind offers a simple renewable energy solution that allows your business to customize a green energy plan by utilizing RECs.

What is a REC?

When renewable energy sources such as wind turbines generate 1 MWh of electricity, a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) is produced. RECs are then sold (in addition to or separate of the electricity supply) to support the growth and development of additional renewable energy resources and projects.

Green Energy Business

A little change can bring a lot of impact.

The average business using 500,000 kWh of electricity a year, is responsible for 774,678 lbs. of CO2 being released into the atmosphere every year. When you choose Pure Wind, your business can continue to reduce your environmental impact from your electricity use.

Pure Wind is Green-e Energy certified and meets the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. Learn more at www.green-e.org. Your purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) supports renewable electricity production in the region of generation. A REC represents the environmental benefits of 1-megawatt hour (MWh) of renewable energy. For every unit of renewable electricity generated, an equivalent amount of RECs is produced, and by purchasing and pairing RECs with your electricity service you are using and receiving the benefits of that renewable electricity. Your REC purchase also helps build a market for renewable electricity. Increased demand for, and generation of, renewable electricity helps reduce conventional electricity generation in the region where the renewable electricity generator is located. It also has other local and global environmental benefits, which may include emitting little or no regional air pollution or carbon dioxide.
The RECs in Pure Wind are verified and certified by Green-e Energy, and Agera Energy is required to disclose the quantity, type and geographic source of each certificate. Please see the Product Content Label for this information. Green-e Energy also verifies that the renewable energy certificates are not sold more than once or claimed by more than one party. For information about Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), see: www.green-e.org/rec.
