Agera Energy is hosting their second community-wide blood drive with the American Red Cross on April 25th, from 10 am – 3 pm at their conference center located in Briarcliff Manor, New York. They increased their impact by extending the blood drive to the entire corporate campus and surrounding communities. Right now, blood supply levels and donations are critically low, so it is more important than ever to reach out to the community. Agera will continue to work alongside the American Red Cross and hold future blood drives.

From community food and clothing drives to volunteering at soup kitchens, we strive to enrich the lives of Americans across the Nation. As our company continues to grow, it’s our corporate commitment to make positive differences and give back to our communities to ensure they grow and flourish too.
The company recently offered support in the form of a donation to the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club. The Nantucket Boys & Girls Club give the youth in the area the opportunity to participate in a number of programs such as football, basketball, field hockey and lacrosse as well as poetry contests, art projects, cooking lessons and computer projects.

Agera Energy was the recent recipient of the Commander’s Award as a result of its participation in the 2016 “Toys for Tots” Westchester County Campaign. As a result of the generous efforts of Agera Energy and its employees our contribution helped the United States Marine Corps distribute over 52,000 gifts to nearly 16,000 disadvantaged children in our community.

Over forty local real estate leaders met Wednesday at the WGB Real Estate Industry Roundtable to discuss sustainable real estate as an investment, a tool for resiliency and the new standard for doing business.
WGB partners, The Business Council of Westchester and Westchester County, kicked-off the meeting crediting WGB for being a unique resource for businesses statewide that are seeking to not only drive operational efficiency but also establish stronger brands and position themselves as industry leaders.
At the table were a variety of real estate professionals, among them: owners, landlords, brokers, tenants, architects, engineers, contractors, planners, energy consultants and other real estate related organizations. The BMEF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the educational opportunities for every child in the Briarcliff Manor Public Schools by funding educational materials and teacher training that is not covered under the district’s budget. The BMEF has been in existence since 1995 and has raised close to $1,000,000 for programs that have enhanced the educational experience of Briarcliff’s students.
On April 28th, 2017, over 250 residents of the Briarcliff Manor School District (Briarcliff Manor, Ossining and Pocantico Hills) will attend the annual Spring Gala at The Briarcliff Manor (25 Studio Hill Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510) where they will be raising funding to support educational materials and teacher training at the Briarcliff Manor Public Schools.
Briarcliff’s public schools are a great source of pride for the community and are a significant reason our area is a highly coveted place to raise a family. The School was recently named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the Department of Education and the High School was ranked number 33 on Newsweek’s America’s Top High School’s 2016.

In 2017 the Tour de Force will begin in Boston, Massachusetts and will cycle through the beautiful countryside of New England. After a scenic ferry across to New York, we will cycle through Long Island’s wine trail and into NYC. All of this in four incredible days, spent honoring the ultimate sacrifices of police officers and preserving the memory of those lost on 9/11.
The Tour de Force’s dual mission is to honor the victims of 9/11 by keeping their memory alive through cycling events and to raise funds, to benefit the families of police officers, who were killed in the line of duty, each year, nationwide, making the ultimate sacrifice.

They returned with dozens of toys suitable for all ages and interests. Agera Energy thrives on supporting our community. Today is #GivingTuesday, which aptly falls right after the most commercial time of the year. Our Headquarters Staff began a clothing, toy and food drive to help families in need around the Westchester and New York City areas. We are proud to participate in both Toys for Tots and other clothing/food drives this time of the year and thank not only the wonderful Agera Energy staff for donating, but also many thanks to the other tenants around our Corporate HQ who were so generous to help us with donations. Today, a Team from Agera Energy volunteered during Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen’s Fast-A-Thon in New York City. The team also spearheaded a fundraiser that set a goal at $15,000 and raised funds surpassing that goal to the tune of $20,110! The work Holy Apostles does to feed around 1,000 hungry New Yorkers each day of the week is fantastic, and Agera Energy is proud to support their efforts both financially and through on-site volunteering. Agera Energy is getting ready to volunteer tomorrow at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in New York City. Along with their volunteer efforts Agera employees who participate in this year’s Fast-A-Thon will only eat one meal for the day, to bring significance to the only meal that the visitors of the Soup Kitchen have daily. In conjunction with the fasting to raise awareness, we have raised over $13,000 in donations for Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen so far this year along with clothing and other goods, which will be donated tomorrow. Agera Energy is very proud of the team we have – a group of individuals working together to achieve a common goal. It is with that in mind that we were delighted to have NY Yankees manager Joe Girardi as a guest speaker at our most recent employee appreciation luncheon. Joe Girardi is heading into his 10th season as manager of the New York Yankees. Joe was a member of three World Series winning teams as a player. As a manager he guided the Yankees to a World Series championship in 2009. He also won the NL Manager of the Year in 2006 with the Florida Marlins. Joe knows how to win. He also knows how to lead a team toward a collective goal. Girardi discussed with the Agera team the importance of working together, putting any individual differences aside and doing what’s best for the organization to thrive. He explained we all come from different backgrounds, different cultures, different viewpoints but it’s important to remember that we are all working towards one goal. Joe also expressed the importance of laughter and having fun, enjoying what you are doing. He spoke about being positive even when things weren’t going well. Keep pushing and doing what’s right and eventually things will move in the right direction. WFAN Sports Radio 66 and 101-9 FM’s own Sweeny Murti was on hand to emcee the event which also gave Agera team members the chance to ask Joe questions pertaining to his time as a player as well as a manager. The day concluded with autographs and pictures for everyone in attendance. It was a valuable experience for everyone that attended to listen and learn from this accomplished leader and manager. Agera Energy’s Regional Director of Channel Sales, Mid-Atlantic Region, Lauren Willner, is wrapping up her volunteering in Thailand with Habitat for Humanity. The progress made, from laying the foundation of the home, all the way through to finalizing the outer walls and roof took just under two weeks for Lauren and her team of volunteers from all across the United States to complete. We at Agera Energy are proud of Lauren for taking her spirit of giving and making a global impact on a family half way around the world. Lauren epitomizes the Agera spirit and the Agera Cares mission of making a positive difference. With the help of our dedicated team spread out across the United States Agera Energy will be collecting new, unwrapped toys during November and December as part of the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. In addition, Agera is proud to announce that its Corporate Headquarters located in Briarcliff Manor, New York is registered as an official toy drop location for the program.

Agera Energy’s own Treasurer Steve Jakab recently earned his Certified Treasury Professional certification, or CTP. The Certified Treasury Professional sets the global standard in the finance profession. The Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP) designation serves as a benchmark of competency in the finance profession and is recognized as the leading credential in corporate treasury worldwide. Agera Energy is very proud of Steve for earning this esteemed designation. Steve has been in the retail energy industry for over 5 years. Jakab’s career started at UBS Financial Services were he served as Operations Manager. Congratulations Steve Jakab on your achievement. Agera is proud to have you on our team.
Agera Energy’s Information Technology (IT) team held its first ever Agera Hack-a-Thon competition on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the corporate office in Briarcliff Manor, New York. The Hack-a-Thon was a competition amongst the members of the IT department. The event consisted of 3 ½ hours of solving programming problems in the site www.hackerrank.com.
The competition provided a challenging learning event that was fun for all. Here’s some feedback from the event:
FUN – what is more exciting for a programmer than solving challenging problems?
GLORY – there is the glory of ranking high in the group – there was a Leaderboard and each person participating was ranked based on the number of problems solved and the level of complexity of each problem.
COMMUNITY – doing this together allowed the IT group to discuss and learn from each other after the event was done.
LEARNING – the challenges spike interest in new algorithms and was of solving problems. It also taught the team new techniques and functions that may not know been known before. Often the way to learn something new is by doing it.
The winner of this year’s Agera Energy competition were: Liz Langlois, Luke Hendricks, and Leonard Abbott.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to the entire IT team for challenging yourselves, honing your skills, learning new techniques and having fun. Agera Energy is proud of all of you!
Agera Energy announced today that Jeremy Schupp has been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective October 25, 2016. Jeremy succeeds Steve Laker, who served as CEO since April 2015. Steve will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer. Under the leadership of Steve Laker the company was able to maintain continued growth and success as well as increase its community involvement while also promoting environmental stewardship across the company.[…]

This fall, Agera Energy is please to once again be working alongside The Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen (HASK) for their annual Fast-a-thon event. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser and awareness campaign help the HASK serve thousands of hungry New Yorkers who visit the soup kitchen each day, and also raise awareness and support for the homeless community at large. Since 2014, Agera has been working alongside HASK and for this year’s Fast-a-thon event, Agera kicked thing off with a contribution of $10,000 and will be matching additional employee and outsider donations that come through our dedicated HASK fundraising website. This morning volunteers from Agera Energy packed over 780 bags at the Food Bank for Westchester (FB4W). For over 25 years, the Food Bank for Westchester has led the fight against hunger, serving 300 frontline programs that provide food directly to the 200,000 county residents who are hungry or food insecure. By turning every $1 donated into $4 worth of fresh food, they were able to deliver over 6.3 million meals last year! Read More >>

Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden held interviews on the main stage and the event ended with a performance by Bernie Williams and his All-Star Band!
